Robbery plan foiled, 4 criminals held with firearm in Kolkata

Kolkata, Oct 16 (IBNS): Police on Saturday midnight arrested four criminals from Kestopur area under Baguiati Police Station limits in Kolkata and recovered firearm from their possessions, officials said.

According to reports, a night-patrolling van of Bidhannagar City Police spotted four men, moving suspiciously, at Kestopur area and detained them.

A knife, a single-shotter firearm and one round cartridge were seized from their possessions.

"During primary interrogation, they confessed that they had gathered there with plans to rob," a senior police official told IBNS.

"We are quizzing them to know if they have links with few robbery incidents, took place earlier, at the area," the officer added.
