Gautam Singhania, Chairman of Raymond Group, was injured after a speedboat carrying him overturned in the Maldives in the early hours of Friday, media reports said.

According to his spokesperson, Singhania sustained minor injuries in the incident and has since returned to Mumbai, where he is recovering.

“Gautam Singhania suffered minor injuries following an unfortunate accident. He is recovering under due care in Mumbai,” the statement said.

Local reports said the accident occurred around 1:15 am near V Felidhoo Island in the Vaavu Atoll region.

A total of seven tourists were on board the speedboat, including five Indian nationals, when it capsized.

While three people reportedly sustained injuries, two Indian passengers—including rally driver Hari Singh—are still missing, raising concerns and prompting search efforts in the area.

Authorities are continuing rescue operations as more details about the cause of the accident are awaited.
