| | Dec 18, 2014, at 05:23 pm
New Delhi, Dec 18 (IBNS) The uproar in Rajya Sabha continued on Thursday over the issue of conversion as the Opposition demanded statement from the Prime Minister on the issue while the government remained adamant.
The House was adjourned amid the standoff.

Anand Sharma of Congress called the government arrogant.

The treasure benches said the Opposition is arrogant and not them while the Opposition hit back accusing the ruling party of creating anarchy.

Opposition leaders like CPI-M's Sitaram Yechury and Congress's Anand Sharma remained vocal as the day ago.

Some 200 Muslims were recently converted to Hinduism in a ceremony organized in Uttar Pradesh by groups like Bajrang Dal linked to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)’s ideological mentor Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS), media reports said.

Meanwhile, BJP might face a stiff opposition in the upper house on the Insurance Bill, which it has listed for introduction during the day.
