Rajnath Singh meets Deputy Prime Minister of Singapore

New Delhi, Nov 4 (IBNS) Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh had a delegation level meeting with the Deputy Prime Minister of SingaporeChee Hean Teo, in Monaco on the sidelines of the third Interpol General Assembly meet on Tuesday.

" Indian delegation included Shri Arun Kumar Singh, Ambassador of India to France, Shri Ranjit Sinha, Director, CBI and Shri Bhagwan Shankar, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs," read a government statement.

Singh while appreciating the cooperation from Singapore in the field of security and police cooperation, economic and culture cooperation, requested that Singapore may consider setting up a world class Skill Development Centre in India.

He underlined six fields, 6 Ss, namely, strategic Partnership, scaling of trade and investment, speeding connectivity including air and maritime, skill development, smart cities including urban development with waste and water management, state’s focus to forge cultural and economic ties that need to be strengthened by both the countries.

The Union Home Minister also underscored the fact that Singapore is a vital partner for India towards gateway to ASEAN countries and India appreciates the role played by Singapore in this regard.

With regard to legal cooperation, the Union Home Minister requested that the pending Letter of Rogatories in Singapore may be looked into on priority.

The Director, CBI, Ranjit Sinha emphasised on exchange of faculty and training towards capacity building of police officers of India and Singapore. He also proposed for an MOU between India and Singapore on this issue.
