Rajasthan road mishap kills 11

Bikaner/UNI: As many as 11 people were killed and 28 others injured in a head-on collision between a bus and a truck in this district of Rajasthan on Monday.

According to police, the incident took place at 0700 hrs on NH 11 near Jhanjheu, when the private sleeper bus was on its way to Jaipur from Bikaner.

The impact of the collision was so intense that the bus caught fire killing 11 on the spot and injuring 28 others.

With the help of the villagers, the police pulled out the victims and rushed them to PMB hospital. Seventeen injured have been admitted of which the condition of 17 is stated to be critical.

Nine of the deceased have been identified as - Om Singh(21), Bhairon singh, Arun Kumar, Navveksha, Kajal, Lalit, Maya Kanwar, Anita and Raju Meena.

Taking to microblogging site Twitter, Rajasthan Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot termed the accident 'highly unfortunate'. He prayed to the Almighty to grant strength to the affected families to bear the loss and peace to the departed soul.
