Rajasthan bus accident: Death toll rises to 30, PM Modi expresses anguish

Jodhpur, Dec 23 (IBNS): The death toll in the bus accident in Rajasthan on Saturday has risen to 30, media reports said.

The accident left 15 people injured.

The accident took place in Sawai Madhopur district's Dubi region.

According to reports, the vehicle lost balance on a bridge and fell into Banas river in Malarna Dungar area at around 7:30 am..

The survivors have been moved to a nearby hospital for treatment.

Expressing anguish over the mishap, Prime Minister Narendra Modi tweeted: "Anguished by the bus accident in Rajasthan's Sawai Madhopur district. My thoughts are with the families of the deceased. State Government is closely monitoring the situation, including rescue operations and providing all possible assistance to those affected."

Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje tweeted to say: "Deeply pained by the accident in Dubi, I had talked to to the officers and asked them to provide assistance to all those who are affect."
