Mumbai/IBNS: Maharashtra Navnirman Sena chief Raj Thackeray Tuesday announced unconditional support to Prime Minister Narendra Modi ahead of Lok Sabha elections.

Thackeray was addressing a rally at 'Shivthirth' Shivaji Park, Dadar on the occasion of Gudi Padva festival.

Following his announcement, the leaders of Mahayuti welcomed the MNS chief's decision.

Deputy Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said, "I am extremely grateful to MNS chief Raj Thackeray for supporting the grand alliance of BJP, Shiv Sena and NCP to realise the dream of a developed India and build a strong Maharashtra, believing in the skillful leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modiji.

"Let us all be determined with full strength to fulfill the hopes and aspirations of the people."

Last month, Raj Thackeray met Amit Shah in Delhi raising speculations of a possible alliance ahead of the Lok Sabha elections due in a few weeks.

As per reports after the last meeting, the MNS wanted three seats - South Mumbai, Shirdi and Nashik from Maharashtra.
