Rahul Gandhi touches 10M followers on Twitter, to celebrate 'milestone' in Amethi

| @indiablooms | Jul 10, 2019, at 11:50 am

New Delhi/Amethi, July 10 (IBNS): Congress leader Rahul Gandhi said he will celebrate the "milestone" of touching 10 million followers on micro-blogging site Twitter during the visit to his former constituency Amethi on Wednesday.

In a tweet on Wednesday, Rahul said: "10 Million Twitter followers - thank you to each and every one of you! I will celebrate the milestone in Amethi, where I will be meeting our Congress workers & supporters today."

This will be Rahul's first visit to Amethi after he had lost the Lok Sabha constituency to Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)'s Smriti Irani.

Despite the loss, Rahul, the former Congress president, is still a Lok Sabha MP as he has won from Kerala's Wayanad.

Rahul remained the MP from Amethi between 2004 and 2019.

Rahul leaves top job

Taking responsibility of the Congress' Lok Sabha poll debacle, Rahul, despite the top brass' request, has stepped down from the president's post. Following the Congress leader, several state leaders have also quit from their respective posts.

Congress veteran Motilal Vora has been appointed as the interim party boss.
