Rahul Gandhi files nomination from Kerala's Wayand constituency

Bengaluru, Apr 4 (IBNS): Congress president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday filed his nomination from Wayanad constituency of Kerala.

Wayanad is the second constituency from where Rahul is fighting the upcoming Lok Sabha polls.

Rahul was accompanied by his sister Priyanka Gandhi Vadra, who is the Congress chief in eastern Uttar Pradesh.

The Congress president's decision to fight polls from Wayanad received sharp criticism from the Left, which is the ruling party of Kerala.

The Left and Congress usually maintain a cordial relationship at the national level.

However, the Congress chief stated he wanted to send a message to the people of south India who feels "hostile" under the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) government at the Centre.

Rahul will also fight from Uttar Pradesh's Amethi, which is the bastion of Congress party.

The Congress supremo is the sitting MP of Amethi.
