Gandhji also shared a video of the incident on his Twitter page.

Condemning the incident, Gandhi tweeted: "While I’m disgusted by this video of Kashmiri traders being attacked in UP, I salute the braveheart who challenged the attackers. India belongs to its citizens, from every corner of our nation. I strongly condemn all acts of violence against our Kashmiri brothers & sisters."

Men allegedly belonging to a  fringe right-wing outfit beat up two  dry fruit vendors from Kashmir in Uttar Pradesh capital Lucknow on Wednesday, media reports said.

The two men, who were assaulted, have been selling dry fruits in the city for many years, reports said.

Locals reportedly rushed to the spot and rescued the two men.
