Pulwama Attack: Congress attacks PM Modi over personally welcoming Saudi Crown Prince

| @indiablooms | Feb 20, 2019, at 03:43 pm

New Delhi, Feb 20 (IBNS): Reacting strongly against Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi's decision to break protocol to welcome Saudi crown prince Mohammad bin Salman personally at the airport, the Congress party said it reflected the way in which the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party-led government treated its jawans who lost their lives in Pulwama terror attack.

The Congress made the comment amid reports that the Prince has“promised billions to Pakistan” during his visit to the south Asian nation.

The Prince is on his first bilateral visit to India.

He reached India on Tuesday.

"By breaking protocol and welcoming Saudi Crown Prince Mohammad Bin Salman with such abundance - only hours after he promised billions to Pakistan - PM Modi has shown the country, the martyrs and every soldier in India what he thinks of their service & sacrifice," the Congress tweeted.

The party also shared a video of Modi welcoming the Prince at the airport with his signature hug.

Another top Congress leader Randeep Singh Surjewala said: "National Interests V/S Modiji’s 'hugplomacy' Breaking protocol, Grand welcome to those who pledged $20 Billion to Pak & praised Pak’s ‘anti-terror’ efforts. Is it ur way of remembering martyrs of Pulwama?."
