Pro-talk ULFA leader, two others arrested for allegedly conspiring to kill Himanta Biswa Sarma

Guwahati/IBNS: Guwahati city police have arrested three persons including a pro-talk ULFA leader for their alleged conspiracy to assassinate Assam minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.

Police arrested pro-talk ULFA leader Pradip Gogoi from his residence at the Hatigaon area in the capital city of Assam.

He was produced before a court on Tuesday.

A top police officer said that a group had made a conspiracy to kill the Assam minister and police arrested the pro-talk ULFA leader based on evidence.

We have received some information that Gogoi and others were conspiring to assassinate the Assam minister. This conspiracy was revealed in their phone conversations,” the police officer said.

Meanwhile, Guwahati city police crime branch has taken him into their custody after producing him before the court.

Police have also arrested two others from Karbi Anglong district.

Pradip Gogoi is the vice-president of ULFA and one of the founder members of the outfit.
