‘Prayed for justice for women in Bengal’: BJP MP Kangana Ranaut offers prayers at Kalighat Temple

Kolkata/IBNS: Bollywood actor and Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) MP Kangana Ranaut on Tuesday visited Kalighat Temple to offer prayers.

Ranaut is in the poll-bound state as a star campaigner for the BJP, which is aiming to unseat the Trinamool Congress.

Speaking to PTI, the Mandi parliamentarian said, “I have always been a devotee of Maa Shakti. Today, I felt the divine call of Maa Kali.

“I prayed for the welfare of the people of West Bengal, and for justice, safety, and a brighter future for all women in the state.”

When will Bengal polls be held?

Assembly elections in West Bengal will be held in two phases on April 23 and 29.

The BJP is aiming to end the 15-year rule of the Trinamool Congress and assume power in the state, where it has never governed.
