Pranab Mukherjee turns 82, Modi,Kovind, Mamata wish him on birthday

New Delhi, Dec 11 (IBNS): Former President Pranab Mukherjee turned 82 on Monday as politicians and national leaders wished him on the special day.

Current President of India Ram Nath Kovind said: "Birthday greetings and best wishes for a long and happy life to former President Shri Pranab Mukherjee, whom we affectionately call "Pranabda" @CitiznMukherjee #PresidentKovind."

Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi wished Mukherjee and tweeted: "Spoke to Pranab Da and wished him on his birthday. His impeccable service endears him to every Indian. I pray for Pranab Da's long and healthy life. @CitiznMukherjee."

West Bengal Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee tweeted: "Wishing former President Pranab Da @CitiznMukherjee a very happy birthday. Bhalo thakben."

Pranab Mukherjee served as the President from 2012 to 2017.

Kovind took over as the new President earlier this year.
