Powerful IED recovered in Assam
Guwahati, Feb 8 (IBNS) : The security forces on Sunday recovered a powerful IED weighing five-six kgs in Assam's Chirang district and averted a major incident in the lower Assam district, officials said.
Defence spokesman based in Guwahati said that following a tip-off, the Army Red Horn division had launched operation at Manas reserve forest area in the BTAD district and recovered the IED and some incriminating documents belonging to the NDFB(S) including extortion notes.
A bomb squad team later defused the IED.
