Powerful bomb recovered in Guwahati

Guwahati, Oct 15 (IBNS) : Assam police on Saturday recovered a powerful crude bomb from a busy market area in Guwahati.

According to the reports, the crude bomb weighing two kgs was recovered from Sankarpur Birubari area near Paltan Bazar in the city.

Later bomb squad team defused the bomb.

Meanwhile, a top official of Assam police said that Paresh Baruah led ULFA(I) has tried to create untoward situation in Guwahati and other major cities in the state.


Recently the Intelligence Bureau (IB) had alerted Assam police, state home department for probable militants attack in the state.

Assam police ADGP Pallav Bhattacharya said that, the outfit group has planned a series of attack on security forces and to create untoward situation in the state.
