Political campaign reaches final stage in two Marathwada constituencies

Aurangabad, Apr 20 (UNI) With just three days remaining for the third phase of Lok Sabha elections, campaigning in Aurangabad and Jalna has reached its final stage as top political party leaders have finished addressing major rallies at various locations in these constituencies.

Campaign will stop tomorrow evening at 1800 hours.

Parties including the BJP-SS-RPI and Congress- NCP and Vanchit Bahujan Agadhi (VBA) parties are contesting the election.

The five major parties BJP-SS, Cong-NCP and VBA had organized election rallies in both of the constituencies headed by the party's prominent leaders in the area and slung allegations and counter allegations against each other.

More than 37 lakh voters in these constituencies will franchise their voting rights on April 23.

BJP's top brass including party president Amit Shah, Shahnawaz Hussain, Union minister Nitin Gadkari, and State Chief minister Devendra Fadnavis and Pankaja Munde have campaigned for Raosaheb Danve in Jalna constituency.

In Aurangabad Shiv Sena president Uddhav Thackeray, Aditya Thackeray, Nitin Bangude Patil, Ramdas Kadam , Mr Fadanvis, Pankaja-Munde among others addressed rallies for Mr Khaire.

Former state Chief minister Prithviraj Chavan who is himself contesting from Nanded constituency, campaigned for Subhash Zambad in Aurangabad, along with Congress's star campaigner Navjot Singh Sidhu and for Vilas Autade in Jalna.

AIMIM chief Asaduddin Owaisi has been rigorously campaigning for his party candidate Imitaz Jaleel in Aurangabad while Adv Prakash Ambedkar has been vying for votes for his VBA candidate Dr Sharadchandra Wankhede in Jalna.

Meanwhile, polling was held on April 18 in the six constituencies of the Marathwada region where around 64.41 pc voter turnout was recorded.
