Policeman killed, another injured,in accidental firing in Assam's Karbi Anglong

Guwahati, Aug 13 (IBNS) : An Assam Polices jawan was killed and another injured in an accidental firing in Assam's Karbi Anglong district on Saturday morning, officials said.

According to the reports the firing incident took place inside the barrack which falls under the  Rongbongway police station area  bordering Nagaon district at around 2-30 AM.

"A jawan was killed on the spot and another was injured. He was rushed to hospital, "a police official said.

How the firing took place is not yet known.

Police have started an investigation into the incident.
