Police seize 477 kg of ganja in Assam's Karbi Anglong

Guwahati: Police on Friday seized 477 kg of ganja from a truck and arrested a person in Assam's Karbi Anglong district.

Based on secret information, police and CRPF jointly had set up a naka checking Khakrajan under Barpathar police station near Bokajan.

John Das, SDPO of Bokajan said that, at about 6.30 am on Friday a truck bearing registration number NL-01A-0164 was intercepted which was coming from Dimapur side.

"On being thorough sesrch of the vehicle 46 packets of ganja weighing 477 kg has been recovered which were concealed in the external cabin hood of the truck," John Das said.

One person namely Ram Chandra Yadav was arrested.
