Police arrest three criminals with arms in Meghalaya’s West Garo Hills

Tura: Police on Friday night arrested three most wanted criminals, along with arms and ammunition, in Meghalaya’s West Garo Hills district.

Based on secret information, a team of West Garo Hills district police on late Friday night carried out a counter-insurgency operation at Nikikona village under Phulbari police station and arrested three most wanted criminals from the area.

Police also recovered arms, ammunition in possession from them.

Police recovered one pistol, one magazine, three rounds of live ammunition, one Motorcycle bearing registration number ML-08G-4295, one Scooty without registration number, two mobile phones, two SIM cards in possession from them.

The arrested persons were identified as Silman R. Marak (30 years old), Elias Alom (24 years old) and  Nur Hussain (22 years old).

A senior police official said that, a case has been registered in connection with this and investigation is on.
