New Delhi, Jan 22 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi is all set to leave for Davos to attend the World Economic Forum on Monday.

On Sunday, Modi said he will share India’s future engagement with the international community during the event.

"I look forward to my first visit to the World Economic Forum at Davos, at the invitation of India’s good friend and Founder of the WEF, Prof Klaus Schwab. The theme of the Forum, “Creating a Shared Future in a Fractured World” is both thoughtful and apt. @wef #IndiaMeansBusiness," Modi tweeted.

He said: "The existing and emerging challenges to the contemporary international system and global governance architecture deserve serious attention of leaders, governments, policy makers, corporates
and civil societies around the world. @wef #IndiaMeansBusiness."

Modi said India’s engagement with the outside world has become 'truly and effectively multi-dimensional' in recent years.

He said: "In recent years, India’s engagement with the outside world has become truly and effectively multi-dimensional covering the political, economic, people to people, security and other spheres. @wef #IndiaMeansBusiness."

Modi said: "At Davos, I look forward to sharing my vision for India’s future engagement with the international community. @wef #IndiaMeansBusiness."

Modi will visit Switzerland from Jan 22-23.

During the visit, Prime Minister will deliver the keynote speech at the plenary session of the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos-Klosters, Switzerland on 23 January 2018. He will also have a bilateral meeting with Mr. Alain Berset, President of the Swiss Confederation on 22 January, the MEA said in a statement earlier this month.

The theme for this year’s WEF is "Creating a Shared Future in a Fractured World.” The plenary session will be moderated by Prof. Klaus Schwab, Founder and Executive Chairman, WEF.

This is the first visit by an Indian Prime Minister to the WEF since the earlier one by Deve Gowda in 1997.
