New Delhi/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi has wished a speedy recovery of Congress interim president Sonia Gandhi, who has contracted Covid-19.

Modi tweeted, "Wishing Congress President Smt. Sonia Gandhi Ji a speedy recovery from COVID-19."

Congress spokesperson Randeep Singh Surjewala said Gandhi had been meeting leaders and activists over the last week, some of whom were found to be Covid positive.

"Congress President had developed mild fever and Covid symptoms last evening. On testing, she has been found to be Covid positive," Surjewala said.

However, Gandhi will appear before the Enforcement Directorate, which has summoned the Congress chief in connection with the National Herald case, Jun 8 as it was informed earlier.
