PM Modi reaches Ahmedabad to cast vote in Gujarat poll

Ahmedabad, Dec 14 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who was the star campaigner for the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) in Gujarat, reached Ahmedabad on Thursday to cast his vote in the second and last phase of state poll.

The second and last phase of the poll is underway in 93 seats in north and central Gujarat.

Boasting on Prime Minister Narendra Modi's powerful rhetoric, the BJP campaigned hard to stay in the power in Gujarat.

The Congress, which apparently gave a tough fight to the saffron party, has aligned with the Patidar Anamat Andolan Samiti (PAAS) to take on the BJP in the state.

The Congress-PAAS alliance is eyeing on uproot the BJP from the power after 22 years.

Several opinion polls earlier suggested that the contest between the two largest political party of the country will be neck to neck.

Modi attended the event of Indian Navy to commission scorpene class submarine INS Kalvari.

The Prime Minister tweeted to say: "The 21st century is Asia’s century. Our Government accords highest importance to the Indian Ocean region, guided by the principle of Sagar - Security And Growth for All in the Region."
