New Delhi, Mar 23 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday paid tributes to Bhagat Singh, Rajguru and Sukhdev on their martyrdom day.

"Remembering Bhagat Singh, Rajguru & Sukhdev on the day of their martyrdom. India will never forget their courage & sacrifice," the PM's tweet read.

Bhagat Singh, Shivaram Rajguru and Sukhdev Thapar were also socialist revolutionaries, who played an important role in India's independence against the British government.

The trio were executed by the colonial rulers for defying orders and waging a protest.
