New Delhi/UNI: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday met the Indian Olympics contingent over breakfast at his official residence here.

This comes a day after the contingent was invited to the 75th Independence Day celebration at the Red Fort.

Modi praised the players in his address on Sunday, and urged the nation to laud them.

The Indian contingent won a record seven medals at the Tokyo Olympics- one gold, two silver and four bronze medals.

Neeraj Chopra won the first Olympic gold in 13 years for India in javelin throw.
