New Delhi/IBNS: Prime Minister Narendra Modi Monday made his debut on Truth Social, a social media platform owned by Trump Media and popularised by the US President.

In his first Truth post, PM Modi shared a picture with "his good friend" President Donald Trump.

"Delighted to be on Truth Social! Looking forward to interacting with all the passionate voices here and engaging in meaningful conversations in the times to come," he wrote.

In his second post, PM Modi shared the link to his recent 3-hour interview with renowned podcaster and computer scientist Lex Fridman.

Earlier in the day, Trump shared PM Modi's interaction with podcaster Lex Fridman on his Truth Social account.

In response to Trump, the prime minister thanked the US President for sharing the same and wrote: "Thank you, my friend, President Trump. I've covered a wide range of topics, including my life journey, India's civilisational outlook, global issues and more."

Modi praises Donald Trump in Lex Fridman's interview:

Modi also spoke about Donald Trump in the podcast and praised him by calling the US President a 'courageous man'.

"His America First approach is similar to what I stand for India first," PM Modi said when asked about the qualities he likes about Trump during an interview with podcast host Lex Fridman.

Referring to the 2019 'Howdy, Modi' event in Houston, Modi also shared that a gesture of Trump stands out in his memory.

"We had an event in Houston, Howdy, Modi. Both President Trump and I were there, and the entire stadium was completely packed. A massive crowd at an event in the US is a huge moment. While packed stadiums are common in sports, this was extraordinary for a political rally," Modi told Fridman.

"The Indian diaspora had gathered in large numbers. Both of us delivered speeches, and he sat down below, listening to me speak. Now, that's his humility. The President of the United States sat in the audience, while I spoke from the stage. That was a remarkable gesture on his part," said PM Modi.

Finishing his speech, he went down to thank Trump and urged him to take a lap around the stadium, the Indian PM recounted.

"Without even a moment's hesitation, he agreed and started walking with me. His entire security detail was thrown off guard. For me, that moment was truly touching, it showed me that this man had courage. He makes his own decisions, but also, he also trusted me and my lead at that moment enough to have walked with me into the crowd. It was that sense of mutual trust, a strong bond between us, that I truly witnessed on that day," said the Prime Minister.

PM hails Trump's America First approach

PM Modi, who won a record third term last year, praised President Trump's "America First spirit", which he said is similar to his "India First" approach.

"When he was shot during the recent campaign, I saw the same resilient and determined President Trump. The one who walked hand in hand with me in that stadium," Modi said.

"Even after being shot, he remained unwaveringly dedicated to America, his life was for his nation. His reflection showed his 'America First spirit', just as I believe in Nation First. I stand for India First and that's why we connect so well. These are the things that truly resonate," PM Modi said.

Modi visited the USA last month when he met Donald Trump for the first time after he took charge for his second term on January 20.
