PM Modi is a global icon: Yogi Adityanath tells Parliament

New Delhi, Mar 21 (IBNS): Newly elected Chief Minister of Uttar Pradesh Yogi Adityanath on Tuesday spoke in the Lok Sabha and appreciated Prime Minister Narendra Modi by calling him a global icon.

"Prime Minister Narendra Modi has emerged as an icon to the world now," the Chief Minister said in the House.

After BJP registered a massive victory in the Uttar Pradesh Assembly polls,  Yogi Adityanath took oath as the Chief Minister of the state on Sunday.

In the Parliament, Yogi Adityanath promised to turn Uttar Pradesh into a 'model state' for the nation.

"There will be no corruption in the state," he said.

Yogi Adityanath, who is still a member of the Lok Sabha, met Prime Minister Modi, President Pranab Mukherjee here.
