New Delhi, Nov 23 (IBNS): The Defence Acquisitions Council (DAC), chaired by Defence Minister Manohar Parrikar, has provided an initial clearance to the Rs 15,750 crore project to acquire 814 mounted artillery gun systems or motorized howitzers, reports said.
The guns will be bought for Rs 15,750 crore under ‘buy and make’ category of the defence procurement procedures.

According to the procedure, this means that the first 100 guns will be bought off the shelf from an original equipment manufacturer while the remaining 714  guns will be manufactured in India.
