Parliament building row: BJP chief Nadda says 'elitist mindsets of dynasts preventing opposition from logical thinking'

New Delhi/UNI: Bharatiya Janata Party ( BJP) president J P Nadda on Friday slammed the opposition parties for not attending the inauguration of the new Parliament building and said, "Elitist mindsets of dynasts are preventing them from logical thinking."

"People of India are seeing how these parties are putting politics above the nation and these parties will be punished yet again by the people for their partisan politics," Nadda tweeted.

Nadda made these remarks after the 19 opposition parties, including Congress, TMC, AAP, and others decided to boycott the inauguration of the new Parliament building, arguing that the inauguration by PM Modi by "sidelining" President Droupadi Murmu's constitution is a "grave insult and direct assault on democracy".

Slamming the Congress in a series of tweets, Nadda said, "These dynastic parties, particularly the Congress and the Nehru-Gandhi dynasty, are unable to digest a simple fact that the people of India have placed their faith in a man hailing from a humble background". He added that the elitist mindsets of dynasts are preventing them from logical thinking.

The saffron party chief said, "What connects most parties which are boycotting the inauguration of the new Parliament building? The answer is simple- they are dynasty-run political parties, whose monarchic methods are at loggerheads with the principles of republicanism and democracy in our Constitution".

As many as 25 parties are expected to attend the inauguration of the new Parliament building by Prime Minister Narendra Modi on May 28.
