Paratrooper injured in Pulwama enounter succumbs

Srinagar, Feb 20 (UNI/IBNS) : A paratrooper, who was critically wounded in an encounter with militants in south Kashmir district of Pulwama on February 12, succumbed to his injuries early Wednesday in the Army hospital, official sources said here.

Paratrooper Sandeep Kumar was critically injured in the encounter with militants at Ratnipora in Pulwama on February 12. He was admitted to 92 Base hospital where he passed away.

Another soldier Baljeet Singh was martyred in the encounter when a Hizbul Mujahideen (HM) militant Hilal Ahmad Rather was killed.

Hilal was involved in helping Naveen Jatt, a top commander of Lashker-e-Toiba (LeT) to escape from SMHS hospital. Jatt was also killed in central Kashmir district of Badgam in November last year.
