Pak violates ceasefire again,India calls off flag-meeting

Jammu, Oct 8 (IBNS): One civilian is killed while several others including many BSF personnel have been wounded in Jammu when Pakistan forces fired towards Indian posts in a fresh violation of ceasefire on Wednesday which prompted India to cancel Flag Meeting with its neighbour, Army sources said.

It has been learnt that, Pak forces resorted to firing from Tuesday night.

During the night long firing, one woman has been killed. About 20 BSF jawans are also reported to be injured.

Speaking to IBNS, Army sources said that India called off Flag Meetings with Pakistan following the latest ceasefire.

Sources also said that Indian forces have been given orders to give a ‘full-fledged’ reply.

In Kashmir, an Army officer told IBNS that Indian forces are ready to challenge the Pakistan.

He further said that we issued strict orders to armymen who are deployed on borders to remain vigil across.

Pakistan has been violating ceasefire in the Line of Control (LOC) for quite some time.

In the worst ceasefire violation by Pakistan in recent times, five villagers were killed and 29 people injured in heavy firing by Pakistani troops along the International Border in Jammu and Kashmir after midnight on Sunday.

Two women and a 13-year-old girl were among those killed when Pakistan rangers resorted to firing at posts of the Border Security Force (BSF) and villages in the Arnia sub-sector of Jammu at around 1.30 am.

There was heavy mortar shelling and they fired automatic weapons.

Intermittent firing took place at Arnia and RS Pura sectors. Then again, in a fresh ceasefire violation by Pakistani troops occurred at Kerni Sector in Jammu and Kashmir's Poonch district on Monday.

Incidents of firing have also been reported in BG sector in Poonch on same day.

Union Minister of Defence Arun Jaitley on Monday gave a stern warning to Pakistan after ceasefire violations by saying that Indian armed forces are ready to retaliate with full force.

On Tuesday at least three civilians were injured in firing and shelling by Pakistani troopers, when the Pak troops targeted 40 BSF posts along the border in Jammu and Samba districts after which border tension escalated further.

Indian border men also retaliated to the ceasefire violation by Pakistan.
