Outgoing Nagaland Governor Ravi receives Guard of Honour ceremony at Dimapur

Kohima/UNI: Outgoing Nagaland Governor R. N. Ravi, who has been posted as the Governor of Tamil Nadu, departed Nagaland after receiving the ceremonial Guard of Honour at the Dimapur Airport.

According to official sources, Ravi finally bade adieu to Nagaland on Wednesday after he left for New Delhi from where he will head to Tamil Nadu Thursday. He would be sworn in as the Governor of Tamil Nadu on September 17.

Ravi served as Nagaland's Governor for a little over two years after assuming the charge on August 1, 2019, and was appointed as the new Governor of Tamil Nadu on September 9.

At the airport, Ravi was accorded a warm send-off by Nagaland Health & Family Welfare Minister S Pangyu Phom, Housing and Mechanical Minister Tongpang Ozukum, Excise & Minority Affairs Adviser Zhaleo Rio and a host of the states officials.

Meanwhile, the President of India has asked Prof Jagdish Mukhi, Governor of Assam to discharge the functions of the Governor of Nagaland in addition to his own duties, until regular arrangements are made.
