'Online community being hurtful', says Ratan Tata in emotional post

Mumbai/IBNS: India's business tycoon and Chairman Emeritus of the Tata Group Ratan Tata has urged netizens to stop spreading hate messages online and be more sensitive as well as kind towards each other.

In an emotional post shared on Instagram, the 82-year-old business tycoon said the online community was being hurtful to each other.

"This year has been full of challenges for everyone, on some level or the other. I see online community being hurtful to each other, bringing each other down, harshly and with quick judgements,” the Chairman Emeritus of the Tata group said.

Urging everyone to be a more patient, he wrote: "I believe this year specially calls for all of us to be unified and helpful and is not the time to pull each other down.”

"More of sensitivity towards each other, more of kindness and more of understanding and patience than what one sees today," he said and added, "My presence online is limited but I truly hope it evolves into place for empathy and support for everyone."

This comes at a time when India is facing multiple challenges owing to the pandemic Coronavirus, accompanied by a prolonged period of lockdown and then the recent India-China faceoff along the Line of Actual Control (LAC) in eastern Ladakh which claimed the lives of at least 20 Indian soldiers.
