Bhubaneswar, Oct 17 (IBNS): More than 20 people are feared to have been killed as a major fire broke out at a hospital in Odisha's Bhubaneswar city on Monday, reports said.

Authorities launched rescue operation soon after the fire broke out.

Patients have been reportedly evacuated from the hospital.

Even as there is no official confirmation, the cause of the fire is believed to be a result of short circuit.

According to reports, fire has been brought under control.

The fire broke reportedly out in the intensive care unit (ICU) of the Institute of Medical Sciences and Sum Hospital in the city.

Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi mourned the loss of lives in the mishap.

Modi said: "Spoke to Minister @JPNadda & asked him to facilitate transfer of all those injured to AIIMS. Hope the injured recover quickly."

He said: "Also spoken to Minister @dpradhanbjp and asked him to ensure all possible help to the injured and affected."
