New Delhi, June 3 (IBNS): The Delhi High Court granted interim bail for three weeks to Indian National Lok Dal (INLD) supremo and former Haryana Chief Minister Om Prakash Chautala in order to attend the post-cremation rituals of his brother Pratap Singh Chautala.

The court directed the INLD supremo, who is serving a 10-year jail term in connection with teachers recruitment case, to furnish  a personal bond of Rs five lakh and two sureties of the like amount.

His brother died on Sunday.

A Delhi court in January last year sentenced Chautala along with his son Ajay to 10 years in jail in the corruption case.

On Jan 16, Om Prakash Chautala, his son Ajay Chautala and 53 others were convicted of recruiting 3,206 junior basic trained teachers between 1999 and 2000 in exchange of money.

The scam is connected to the illegal recruitment of more than 3,000 teachers during Chautala's tenure (1999-2000).
