North Bengal residents can now go to Siliguri PSK for passport issuance and related issues
Kolkata/Siliguri, Feb 15 (IBNS): Siliguri, the gateway to the northern parts of West Bengal, will get its own Passport Seva Kendra (PSK) on Saturday.
The opening of the PSK in Siliguri is expected to benefit passport seeking applicants residing in districts of Darjeeling, Alipurduar, Coochbehar, Jalpaiguri, North and South Dinajpur.
The Regional Passport Officer Bibhuti Bhusan Kumar said only applications submitted through the online system will be entertained at PSK Siliguri and applicants are requested to bring online Application Reference Number (ARN) sheets along with other necessary documents of identity proof, address and proof of date of birth (original and self attested Xerox copy).
According to a government news release, "100 numbers of applications in Normal category (Fresh/Re-issue), 10 numbers of applications in Tatkaal category and 10 numbers of applications in PCC category totaling 120 numbers of applications will be entertained per day at PSK, Siliguri from 19.02.2018."
The release also said that appointments for the same has been released on www.passportindia.gov.ini from Wednesday.
The RPO has also said that that only those applicants who have obtained appointments through the online mode will be entertained and no walk-in application will be accepted.
The applicants have to pay the passport fees through online payment system.
The Passport Seva Kendra will be at the first floor of Shopping-cum-Office Complex, Himachal Vihar, Matigara, Siliguri.
