Bengaluru, Aug 22 (IBNS): After returning from Rio Olympics, athlete OP Jaisha has alleged that she was not provided water by Indian officials while running the marathon.

Speaking to NDTV channel, she said: "Running that distance, in that heat, you need so much water. There is a common water point after 8 km, but you need water after each kilometre. Other athletes were getting food along the way. I got nothing."

Jaisha came 89th in the race.

She had collapsed after completing the 42-km race.

Officials from competitors' countries were required to place a desk every 2.5 km to offer them liquids.

However according to reports, Jaisha had to depend on official Olympics counters which were placed about 8 km apart.
