Nitish wages war of crores against Modi: Announces Rs.2.70 lakh crore-scheme in Bihar

Patna, Aug 28 (IBNS) It was a war of crore Bihar Chief Minister Nitish Kumar seemed to have waged against Prime Minister Narnedra Modi in the run up to the Assembly elections when he on Friday announced Rs. 2.70 lakh crore- development schemes to be implemented in the state over the next five years.

Prime Minister Modi had promised a special package of Rs. 1.25 lakh crore for the state.

"This is not like the package the prime minister announced. We will get funds for these projects and implement them as soon as possible," Kumar told a press conference.

Nitish Kumar, who confronts Modi as his main electoral enemy has rubbished the package that the PM announced while campaigning in Bihar this month, calling it old wine in new bottle.

He alleged that most of the schemes that the PM announced are existing plans being re-packaged with an eye on elections.

The BJP, however, is confident that the PM's announcement is a game changer and will give it a huge advantage in the assembly elections.
