New York: Narendra Modi receives Global Goalkeepers Award

New York: Adding one more feather to his crown, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Tuesday received the Goalkeepers Global Goals Award for his government's Swachh Bharat program. 

Microsoft founder Bill Gates presented the award to the Indian PM.

The present was handed over to the Indian leader during a ceremony at the sidelines of the UN General Assembly summit in New York City.

MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar tweeted: "Leading the global march towards achieving SDGs PM @narendramodiwas conferred the prestigious Global Goalkeepers Award by @gatesfoundation for his role as a catalyst in implementing the largest, most complex sanitation intervention in India through #SwachhBharatMission."

Modi is visiting USA to attend the UN General Assembly meeting.

He also met US President Donald Trump on several occasions during this visit.

Trump also shared the stage with Modi on Sunday in the 'Howdy, Modi!' event in Houston.
