NDA likely to get majority in LS: Exit poll

New Delhi, May 12 (IBNS): The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP)-led National Democratic Alliance (NDA) might get a majority in the Lok Sabha, exit poll said.

According to the India Today Group-Cicero exit poll the BJP-led NDA might get  261-283 seats while the ruling Congress-led United Progressive Alliance (UPA) might get 110 to 120 seats and others get 150 to 162 seats.

The last phase of the nine phased election in India to constitute a new Lok Sabha concluded on Monday where the country witnessed highest ever voter turnout of 66.38 percent.

Amid violence and clashes, the eastern Indian state of West Bengal registered a high turnout of nearly 80 percent voters, where voting was held across 17 seats, including south and north Kolkata seats.

While Bihar registered a balloting of 54 percent, the politically crucial state of Uttar Pradesh witnessed 55 percent voter turnout.
