New Delhi: Indian PM Narendra Modi on Sunday wished former PM Jawaharlal Nehru on his 132nd birth anniversary.

The first Indian PM's birth anniversary is celebrated in India as Children's Day.

"Tributes to Pandit Jawaharlal Nehru Ji on his birth anniversary," Modi tweeted.

Nehru was fondly known as Chacha Nehru due to his love for children.

Congress leaders Rahul Gandhi also remembered him and said: " Remembering India’s first Prime Minister who greatly valued truth, unity and peace."
