Narendra Modi mourns Mahashweta Devi's death

New Delhi, July 28 (IBNS): Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Thursday mourned the death of writer and social activist Mahashweta Devi.

Calling her voice of compassion, equality and justice, Modi tweeted:"Mahashweta Devi wonderfully illustrated the might of the pen. A voice of compassion, equality & justice, she leaves us deeply saddened. RIP."

Mahasweta Devi  passed away at a hospital in Kolkata on Thursday.

She was 90.
