Mumbai landslide horror: 6 killed, 4-5 feared trapped under rubble in Kurla
Mumbai/IBNS: At least six people were killed after a landslide struck Mumbai's Kurla area in the early hours of Wednesday, media reports said.
Four to five people feared trapped
Another four to five people are reportedly trapped under the rubble, prompting an extensive search and rescue operation at the site.
Specialised victim detection cameras are being used to identify any signs of life beneath the debris.
Incident reported early Wednesday
According to information shared by the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation's (BMC) Mumbai Fire Brigade, the incident occurred at around 3:48 am on Wednesday, NDTV reported.
BMC Mayor Ritu Tawde and Additional Municipal Commissioner (Eastern Suburbs) Avinash Dhakne visited the site to assess the situation and oversee the ongoing rescue efforts.

Rescue operation underway
A Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) was quoted by NDTV as saying that emergency response teams and local authorities were continuing rescue operations.
The bodies of those killed have been sent to a hospital for further procedures, the DCP said.
Police are also conducting further investigations into the incident.
