Mumbai blast case: Sentencing of gangster Abu Salem, four others today

Mumbai, Sept 7 (IBNS): A special TADA court is likely to pronounce its sentence against five people, including gangster Abu Salem, in connection with the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case on Thursday.

The court had convicted the five men in June this year.

The convicts are Feroz Abdul Rashid Khan, Taher Merchant, Karimullah Khan, Abu Salem and Riyaz Siddiqui.

The court found them guilty of conspiracy and terror activities in connection with the case.

Another convict in the case Mustafa Dossa passed away on June 28.

The serial blasts had left 257 people dead and  713 seriously injured  besides destroying  properties worth Rs 27 crore.
