MP Police detain carol singers allegedly for converting people

Satna, Mumbai 15 (IBNS):  Madhya Pradesh police detained a group of carol singers and two priests in Satna on allegations that they were out converting people, according to media reports.

Later, a car used by some carolers who went to the police to find out about the detained priests was allegedly set on fire by activists of the same group, reported NDTV.

According to reports, the complaint was made by members of the Bajrang Dal.

Police reportedly rounded up the carol singers and the priests as they out singing and took them to the police station.

A group of priests who went to inquire about the matter at the police station, were also detained, media reported.

The car of one of the priests was set on fire during this time.

The police has registered a case against 'unknown people' for setting fire to the car, media reported.

The singers and the priests were detained well into midnight, media reported.
