Modi govt wants to restore India's lost glory: Harsh Vardhan in New Jersy
New Jersy, May 27 (IBNS): Union Minister for Science & Technology and Earth Sciences Harsh Vardhan said that Narendra Modi Government wants to restore the lost glory of India by changing the developmental model that integrates our old wisdom with modern scientific knowledge.
Addressing the Indian American community at New Jersy, USA last evening elucidating various steps taken by the NDA Government, he said the confidence of people, both within and outside India has now been restored.
The minister said that Indians were desperate to have leaders who would govern to make their lives meaningful and full of purpose and so they gave a clear mandate in the last elections.
Vardhan said speedy steps are being taken to meet people’s expectations through an efficient, effective, transparent, ethical, and development oriented governance.
The Prime Minister’s vision is to achieve uninterrupted power for all in the country by 2022. Target for production of Renewable Energy, including solar power has been set at 100 GW by 2022. India aims to become world’s largest producer of mobile telephones and computers following Modi government’s green signal to investment in Semi-conductor Wafer Fabrication units.
Technology is sought to be fully exploited, he said
The Minister pointed out that various steps taken by the government has already led to substantial reduction consumer, food and whole sale inflation rates. The World Bank predicted a GDP growth rate of 8 per cent for India by 2017, making it the fastest growing large economy in the world.
Vardhan also informed the gathering that 49% FDI in Defence, 49% FDI in Insurance, besides easing in Norms for various sectors including for construction and medical devices are all being undertaken by the government.
