Itanagar, Nov 4 (IBNS): To counter China, Centre on Tuesday cleared a total of about Rs. 90 crore in the current fiscal for various road projects in Arunachal pradesh, media reported.
According to reports, the investment would be a part of total Rs. 120.41 crore for 17 road projects for which state shares were cleared and utilisation certificates submitted to the Ministry of Development of North Eastern Region (DONER).

The decision was taken on Monday in a meeting attented by DONER Secretary R Vijay Kumar, Joint Secretary A M Singh and NEC Joint Secretary V B Pathak during a discussion on various road projects with state PWD Minister Gojen Gadi in New Delhi.

It has been learnt Union Home Minister of State Kiren Rijiju assured the release of central share for 17 projects.

In the meanwhile, The lawmakers of Tawang district in Arunachal Pradesh have hailed the Centre’s decision to construct an airport in the area and said the project would boost connectivity.

"Construction of airport at Tawang is a two-edged sword which will not only help from the defence point of view but will also improve the socio-economic condition of the people in the remote border district that has remained isolated from mainland India due to poor road connectivity,” Urban Development, Art and Culture Minister Pema Khandu has reportedly said.
