Modi congratulates Sri Lanka's President-elect

New Delhi, Jan 9 (IBNS) Prime Minister Narendra Modi has congratulated Sri Lanka's President-elect Maithripala Sirisena hoping both the countries would strive for taking the bilateral relationship to a new level.
"Your historic victory is a tribute to your vision for Sri Lanka," he said in a letter.
 
"I look forward to working with. you to take our relationship to a new level for benefit of our people and our region," Modi said.
 
The PM   wished Sirisena all the success in building a peaceful and prosperous Sri Lanka, "on foundations of genuine and effective reconciliation.
 
He also invited Sri Lanka'es  President-elect to visit India and wrote that he was looking forward to receive him India.
