Minor allegedly gang-raped in West Bengal, 2 held

Kolkata, Dec 29 (IBNS): Police on Wednesday midnight arrested two men for allegedly gang-raping a minor girl next door at Thakurbari area under Chandrakona Town Police Station limits in West Medinipur district of West Bengal, reports said.

According to reports, when the nearly 15-year-old girl was returning home with her cousins in the late evening, two drunk men forcibly took her to an isolated temple and allegedly gang-raped her.

After being rescued by family members, the minor was rushed to Chandrakona Rural Hospital nearby, where she is undergoing treatment.

After beginning probe into the incident, police arrested two youths- Raja Singh and Shantanu Das- from the area at midnight and they will be produced before a local court on Thursday, according to police reports.
