Srinagar, Apr 28 (IBNS): Security forces on Friday arrested a local militant along with arms, while his accomplice escaped, when the duo tried to snatch the service rifle of a paramilitary Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) trooper at a bank in south Kashmir’s Anantnag district.

Reports said that the two militants barged inside the Tehsil premises branch of J&K Bank in Lal Chowk Anantnag and attempted to snatch the rifle of a trooper.

“Weapon snatch bid was foiled by troopers who apprehended the militant while another managed to escape using a pistol to shoot at the troopers,” police official said.

Officials identified the arrested militant as Muneeb Ahmad Malla of Reshipora Behibagh Kulgam.
